In a summer night in 2015 a few brothers and great friends had dinner together and tasted many wines to chose between a range of local varietiesin Bierzo and Galicia. They were looking for inspiration to plant “La cuadra de la Señora”, a hectare of land that once had been a malvasía vineyard… A few months later part of this land was planted with some 800 vines of Merenzao, a variety we had fallen in love with. On top of that, sitting the vineyard by the French Camino de Santiago were pilgrims pass by, it made perfect sense to grow the Merenzao that no question had arrived to Bierzo from Jura centuries ago. That trousseau is now one of us.Afetr the terrible conditions of 2017, it took us up to 2019 to first achieve a harvest with enough quality to produce the first single variety wine with 100% Merenzao in DO Bierzo.

Tasting Notes
Very light colour typical of the variety, clean and shiny. In the nose it is pure strawberries and cherries. Very fresh and perfumed in the mouth, quite long and showing nice acidity that indicates good aging potential. Party and joy in the glass!
